Profit Distributions

Our gross profits are distributed to the following entities: 50% City of Monroe, 25% Union County, 24% Union County Board of Education and 1%Union County Library.

Part of the revenue from alcohol sales also goes back to the community to fund vital programs for education, treatment and public awareness.

This integrated approach recognizes that addressing the consequences of alcohol abuse requires a comprehensive strategy that goes beyond mere regulation.

A Model for Responsible Alcohol Sales

Local Boards in North Carolina are established and operated with no state funds. Through the sale of $1,868,427,101 in spirituous liquor in ABC Stores in the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023. Total revenue distributions amounted to $710,640,091 to the State’s General Fund and the cities and counties where alcohol sales are allowed.

In 2023 North Carolina ranked 6th in the United States for alcohol revenue generated through the sale of spirits, while ranking 39th in consumption per capita.
